You do not have to be falling apart for this to matter.

Especially when you are used to being the strong one.

Many of the people I work with are caregivers, helpers, parents, and professionals who carry a great deal for others. I welcome women, men, and people of all genders, as well as older teens 16+, who want thoughtful, direct support without judgment or pressure to perform.

You do not need the right words before you begin. We can start with what feels heavy, stuck, or no longer sustainable.

How I can help

Support for real life, in all its complexity.

We can focus on what feels most urgent while staying curious about the deeper patterns, relationships, and experiences shaping how you feel.

01

Burnout, anxiety & overload

Slow things down, understand what your mind and body are communicating, and find practical ways to move forward with more steadiness.

02

Caregiving & the invisible load

Support for caregiver strain, changing family roles, difficult decisions, resentment, and the need for boundaries without guilt.

03

Grief, loss & life transitions

Make room for bereavement, anticipatory grief, uncertainty, identity shifts, and the complicated feelings that can come with change.

04

Relationships & trauma patterns

Explore the protective patterns that once helped you cope, with compassion for why they formed and choice about what comes next.

My approach

Therapy should fit the person—not the other way around.

My work is relational, trauma-informed, and integrative. That means we pay attention to what has happened, what is happening now, and what matters to you—without reducing your life to a diagnosis or forcing a one-size-fits-all method.

  1. 01

    Relationship comes first

You deserve to feel respected, understood, and able to be honest.

  2. 02

    We move at your pace

You will never be pushed to disclose more than feels safe or useful.

  3. 03

    Insight meets real life

We make space for reflection while building practical ways to cope and choose.

  4. 04

    Context matters

Culture, identity, systems, relationships, and lived experience belong in the room.

Care that sees the person, not just the problem.

About Connie

Experience, warmth, and room to be fully human.

I’m Connie Shea, a Registered Social Worker and counsellor based in Vancouver. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with adults, older adults, caregivers, and families in community and health-care settings. My experience includes supporting people through cancer survivorship, sudden loss, financial and workplace stress, substance use within families, immigration and relocation, and challenges related to learning, identity, and belonging.

My style is calm, candid, and compassionate. My understanding of cross-cultural and multiracial family life informs how I approach relationships, culture, and belonging. I make room for the histories, responsibilities, contradictions, and strengths that shape each person’s life—because counselling should see the whole person, not reduce them to a single problem.
